I know a lot of people who have worked with the Amish and they all say that by an large they are excellent people. I too have little time for organised religion, but I admire these people for the way they are satisfied with what they have. I read somewhere that when you stop believing in god you don't believe in nothing, you believe in anything. I don't know that I accept this completely but I do feel for simple people. And let's face it 85% of Brits are simpletons the decline in church attendance has been mirrored by the rise in anti social behaviour.

Don't get me wrong I don't advocate a return to Sunday School and weekly church attendance. I just think for all too many people the lack of a moral frame work in their lives has led to a general decline in civility. How you go about restoring a sense of community and decent treatment to your fellow man I'm afraid I don't have an answer....Though I would have some of the more anti social elements in our community flogged naked through the streets for starters :)Call me Infidelnoreply@blogger.com
